This Week's Finds

Shopping for cosmetics and accessories can be very therapeutic. I spent a Sunday afternoon going from store to store to see what new things I could find. I needed to replenish my makeup supplies, so I decided to purchase a few cost-friendly must haves. The cross body bag was an awesome find in a local thrift store. You can't beat two bucks! Trader Joe's Divine Nine cupcakes were a little treat for a long, hard day of shopping ;)

These items can be purchased in Ulta or Walmart.

Purse was found in a local thrift store.

Wrapped Up

There's finally a real chill in the air. I would normally brave the cold with bare legs, but today I decided to wear these tights with a knee-length skirt. The wide pattern looks like bandages wrapped around my legs. Add my favorite flats, and it's a good day!

Purple Dreams

A friend posted a link on my Facebook page showing how to do a water marble nail design, so I decided to try it out for myself. After watching the tutorial a few times I decided it would be easier (and cleaner) to practice this design on press-on nails instead of my real nails. I was pleasantly surprised with the end result---wearable abstract art. *smiles*

Shiver in my bones

I'm very fortunate to wear whatever I want to my job on chilly day like today. I purchased these legwarmers from Target a few years ago and they still do the job. These Jackass by Converse shoes were also an older purchase and they still turn heads :P

Shoes: Tory Burch Reva Ballet Flat

Sooo...I get home from work the other day, and what do I see? A package! With Shoes! Yes, I ordered them and knew they were coming, but I'm still excited!

Gold is a great neutral color for fall, and these shoes are perfection! Of course, I'm a huge fan of Reva ballet flats (I eventually want to own every single pair), so it's no surprise that my perfect gold shoe would come from that collection. I can't wait to wear them!

I was inspired by Katy Perry's song "Peacock" for this look. I went on a hiking trip with friends and this song was on repeat in the car for 2 hours! (HA!) As you may know, the song isn't about a bird but I thought I would have a little fun with this one. The key to this look is to use a light eye concealer and pack tons of shadow on top and blend. The eyeshadow came from my BH Cosmetics 120 Color palette (1st edition).

Bag: Coach, Dress/Bracelets: Forever 21
I was looking for the perfect medium-sized bag, and my search came to an end when I laid my eyes on the Rambler's Legacy bag. It's a great shoulder bag with soft leather and gold accents. It's a classic bag that works well with jeans or dresses and, like all classic Coach bags, it will stand the test of time.

I love this dress because it's easy and fun, which means it doesn't require much accessorizing :)

"Dark and Twisty"

Fall is my favorite season of the year. I currently reside in Virginia, so the weather changes as often as one changes underwear. That being said, I tend to wear darker shades of eyeshadow and nail polish when the temperature drops. I chose to do a smokey eye in the purple family because the "V" eyeshadow is my favorite color in the True Blood for Tarte palette. I didn't want to take attention away from my eyes, so I decided to go with a nude colored lip by M.A.C. I just so happened to purchase a burgundy polish a month ago on The polish is infused with gold and purple glitter and it really added a great finishing touch to this look.

Make-up used in the photos:

Brows: "Spiked" eyebrow pencil by MAC
Lips: "Touch" Lipstick and "C-Thru" Lip Gloss by MAC
Cheeks: Wonder Woman Powder Blush in "Mighty Aphrodite" by MAC (this was a limited edition, but a rose/natural blush powder in other brands will work)
Eyes: Tarte True Blood Eyeshadow set: Lifted Eye Primer, Lights Camera Lashes Mascara, "Stake" shadow, "V" shadow, "Nocturnal" shadow, "The Light" shadow.
Urban Decay eyeliner in "Zero," Urban Decay Eyeliner in "Rockstar."
Nails: "Black Hole" Cherimoya (you can get it here)
