DIY: Dolce and Gabbana Inspired Earrings

A few weeks ago, I blogged about Dolce and Gabbana earrings because I was so inspired by their beautiful designs.

I was especially intrigued by this pair, but the $1,095 price tag put them way out of my reach. Instead of scouring the internet for similar earrings to purchase, I decided to try my hand at making something similar.

I used:
14 golden flower-shaped beads, 2 golden toggle clasps, 2 10mm ear clips, 4 6mm brass double rings, 14 round faux pearls, white acrylic paint, paint brushes, pliers, lace, E6000 adhesive, super glue, scissors
(All items may be purchased at Micheals or Jo-Ann Fabric and Crafts)

I began by folding the lace in half and gluing it together with E6000. I cut out two sections of the pattern with scissors.

I sealed the loose ends of the lace with super glue. This will prevent the frayed edges from coming apart with wear.

I painted the flowers with white acrylic paint and sat them aside to dry.

Once the paint dried, I glued a large flower bead to the center of each ear clasp with E6000.

I attached a brass ring onto each end of the cut-out lace using pliers. I attached a toggle clasp to the bottom ring, and I attached the ear clasp to the top ring. Afterwards, I glued three flower beads to the top and bottom of the lace with E6000.

After the glue dried, I placed a pearl in the center of each flower bead with a small amount of E6000. I allowed the pearls to adhere to the beads...and tada...Dolce and Gabbana inspired earrings!

I'll be wearing these earrings in an upcoming post ;)

Have a great week!
