Hint of mint

 Earlier this month, Natalia pointed out this little blue dress as we were on our way out of Forever 21. I loved the gold buttons and mint-colored fabric on the pockets, so I bought it. It has that cool retro feel that I'm really into right now. If I had a time machine, I would definately travel back to the late 60's...just for a couple of days to grab some clothes :)

Blood and Butter

I saw Dark Shadows a week ago, and I was immediately inspired by the makeup looks in the film. Pointed nails, dark nail lacquers, red lips, huge lashes and heavily shadowed eyes dominated the screen. The look that stood out the most to me was Johnny Depp's character Barnabus Collins. In the drag queen world they would say that he rocked "garage doors" ( one color of eye shadow on the entire eye lid), contoured blush, long nails and a red lip. And seeing that he was a vampire in the film, you can't forget the blood ;) I hope you enjoy this series of photos.

Lazy Weekend

  My favorite perfume, BCBGeneration jumper (old), a few pieces of silver, Antonio Melani sandals (old), and my favorite handbag (see the updated version)

I'm very selective when it comes to perfume. Strong fragrances make my allergies go crazy, and I normally stay away from floral scents because they make me sneeze. However, Marc Jacobs made me a believer when he created Daisy. It's sweet without being overbearing, and it makes me think of spring...like I could actually lay in a field of blooming flowers...and not sneeze myself into a total oblivion (haha!).

I love this jumper, even though it balloons out at the waist and makes me look like I have a lot of extra "junk in my trunk". It's loose-fitting, casual, and perfect for a day spent doing absolutely nothing. This black handbag comes with me on most occasions. I'm convinced that the '09 Madison satchel is one of Coach's greatest creations.

Sometimes it's great to just spend the weekend lounging around...

Floral Dreams

 I saw this dress a couple of weeks ago, and I could not bare to leave it in the store. The floral print looks like a dreamy painting. I recently wore it to an event with my new ZARA heels, and everyone kept asking me how I was able to remain on my feet for such a long time. Honestly, I've always been very comfortable in heels, and these are surprisingly easy on your feet. My feet did not ache at all after wearing these shoes for a full day. Seriously. These are great shoes!

Chains

Jeweled flats can enhance the simplest outfits. These chained sandals came from Victoria's Secret. I don't wear a lot of heels, so I have to find different shoes that make me feel like I'm stepping out in style. I made this chained friendship bracelet a while ago, courtesy of Honestly WTF's tutorial. This piece of jewelry adds an adult twist to the friendship bracelets that I used to make as a child. I also purchased a new polish by China Glaze called "peachy keen." This color looks awesome on sun-kissed skin ;)

ZARA White High Heel Sandals

I wanted to add some classic, versatile shoes to my wardrobe, and you can't go wrong with the simplicity of black and white. I appreciate items that I can easily mix and match with many different outfits. I also like items that will stand the test of time, since fashion trends change so often. I found exactly what I was looking for at ZARA. I love the quality of these shoes, and they are reasonably priced. I'll definitely get a lot of wear out of these bad boys :)

Bangles and more

A girl can never have too many bangles. I purchased these sets from Forever 21; they go with the cool and eclectic theme that I'm going for this summer. This sweet little chiffon dress is an older purchase from Torrid. From far away people think there are flowers on the dress, but if you take a closer look they are actually skulls. This fits my dark and twisty aesthetic. ;) The red lip is by M.A.C and the magnetic polish is by China Glaze.

On Rocky Ground

I spent last weekend in Clearwater Beach, and the weather was absolutely perfect! The temperature was in the mid-80s, but the gulf breeze balanced the heat and sun nicely. While driving across a bridge, I saw these rocks jetting off from the shore and decided to stop. The sun was nearly blinding from where I stood, but I was determined to take a few photos on these rocks anyway.
